Lansby Launches to Help Mission-Driven Organizations Establish Their Position on AI
New consultancy works with executive teams and boards to build clear AI governance from the top down
SPOKANE, Wa., Sept. 1, 2026 — Lansby, a new AI education and advisory company for mission-driven organizations, has launched with a flagship executive engagement designed to help organizational leaders answer an increasingly important question: What is our position on artificial intelligence?
Founded by Jennifer De Witt and Alan Murphy, Lansby works with executive teams, boards, and senior leaders of nonprofits, educational organizations, and mission-driven institutions.
Its flagship offering, The Executive Position, is a four- to six-week engagement that helps leadership determine where AI aligns with the mission, what risks the organization is willing to accept, what requires oversight, and what should remain outside organizational boundaries.
“Most organizations already have several positions on AI. The problem is that none of them are official,” said De Witt, co-founder of Lansby. “One leader sees opportunity while another sees risk. People all over the organization are already experimenting. Our work helps leadership turn those individual perspectives into an organizational position they can explain, govern from, and carry forward.”
The engagement includes a Judgment Gap Report examining how AI is already intersecting with the organization, a facilitated executive or board session, and a written governance position outlining principles, risk tolerance, oversight responsibilities, and expectations for responsible use.
Leadership also receives a concise public-facing summary for use with donors, journalists, regulators, and institutional partners.
“The goal is not to become more enthusiastic about AI or more resistant to it,” Murphy, co-founder of Lansby, said. “It is simply to reach a position that aligns with the organizational mission.”
Once that executive foundation is established, Lansby extends the work into areas including Donor Relations, Marketing and Communications, and Staff Training.
