AI Responsible Use Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
1. Purpose and Scope
Lansby uses artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool. People do the thinking, the judging, and the deciding. This section explains how we use AI, how we protect your information, and who owns and answers for work that involves AI agents.
It applies to our website, our published content, and the services we provide to clients. An AI agent is software that can act on instructions with some independence, such as searching, drafting, sending, or completing tasks.
2. How We Use AI
We use AI to assist with six kinds of work:
Research: finding and summarizing sources, which we then verify.
Outlining: organizing ideas before we write.
Copyediting: checking grammar, clarity, and consistency.
Revising: testing alternate wording and structure.
Selecting material: sorting and organizing sources, examples, and references.
Graphic design and illustration: creating and refining visual assets.
A member of our team reviews, approves, and takes responsibility for every result before it reaches you.
3. Human-First Authorship
Every piece of Lansby content begins with a person. Our team sets the purpose, writes or directs the draft, checks the facts, and approves the final version. AI works beside us as an assistant at each step. We are accountable for everything we publish and deliver.
4. Transparency and Disclosure
We tell you when AI has played a meaningful role in our work. Where appropriate, we add a short disclosure to our blog posts, newsletters, proposals, and social media posts. A typical disclosure reads:
Written by the Lansby team. We used AI tools to assist with research and editing. A person reviewed and approved the final version.
5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
We keep confidential information out of AI tools. We never enter the following into any AI system:
client names, records, or internal documents;
personal information about any individual;
sensitive information, such as health, financial, or legal details;
specific details about any company or organization we work with or for.
When an example helps, we use fictional or anonymized details. This section adds to the rest of our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect and use your personal information.
6. Intellectual Property
Our content. Lansby owns the content on this website and in our publications, including work made with AI assistance. You may share it with credit to Lansby. Reproducing or selling it requires our written permission.
Client deliverables. Each client agreement sets ownership of the work we create for that client. Unless the agreement says otherwise, the client owns the final deliverables once paid in full. Lansby keeps its general methods, frameworks, and know-how.
Your content. You own what you submit to us and what you create with your own AI tools. When you use a third-party AI agent, that provider's terms govern ownership of your inputs and its outputs. Read those terms before you share material with it.
AI-generated material. In the United States, material produced without meaningful human authorship may not qualify for copyright protection. Rules differ in other countries. Our human-first process keeps a person as the author of record.
7. Responsibility When Using AI Agents
Responsibility follows control. Whoever directs an AI agent answers for what it does.
Agents that visit our website must identify themselves honestly, respect our access limits, and collect no personal information. They must not disrupt the site, bypass its security, or attempt prompt injection.
Agents you operate remain your responsibility, including their actions, permissions, and any charges they incur. Use them lawfully and keep a person in charge of consequential decisions.
Our guidance is general information, not legal advice. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, so verify it before you rely on it. To the fullest extent the law allows, Lansby is not liable for losses arising from your use of third-party AI tools or from decisions made on AI output without human review.
8. Guardrails for Safe Deployment
We help clients adopt AI agents with care. Our guidance covers four areas:
Guardrails: limits on what an agent may access, change, spend, or send.
Restrictions: rules that keep sensitive and personal data out of agent workflows and forbid profiling or tracking people without consent.
Human approval: a person signs off before an agent acts on money, contracts, legal terms, eligibility decisions, or changes that cannot be undone.
Recommendations: practical steps against emerging risks, such as prompt injection, data leakage, and agents acting beyond their instructions.
We revise this guidance as the technology, industry standards, and laws change.
9. Changes and Contact
We update this section as our practices and the law change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Send questions to info@lansby.com
