We're Lansby, and we work with nonprofit executives who can't afford to get AI wrong.
about LansbyWe show mission-driven leaders just like you how to move forward on AI with a position you can actually defend.
Jennifer has spent thirty years in technology and started her career teaching high school English, which means she's spent her whole professional life standing in front of people making complicated things clearer. She got her start in network services then spent many years in web design, social media, and digital strategy for organizations like Opera Orlando, and The Bach Festival Society and in higher education at Rollins College, UCF, and MSU. She trained staff and coached leaders the whole way through. She understands how your board thinks and she knows exactly how a small team gets asked to do more with less, because she's lived it.
Alan spent thirty years as an engineer and Product Manager in IT/cloud infrastructure, data security, and most recently agentic AI development. Along the way he taught engineering and field teams to use technology they'd never seen before, and contributed to multiple patents in data security and user identity. Alan has had the opportunity to do essential work inside nonprofits themselves: deploying a client-records system at Seattle Children's Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center, and untangling collections data through a massive data migration at Seattle's Museum of Flight. For the past two years he's been heavily involved in building agentic workflows for normal people outside of the tech bubble.
Meet Our Founders
Jennifer De Witt
Co-founder & Partner
Alan Murphy
Co-Founder & PartnerJennifer and Alan met at the University of Georgia in 1998.
Jennifer and Alan met as network specialists at the University of Georgia in the late 1990s which, translated, means they were both nerds who got genuinely excited about the early internet while everyone else's eyes glazed over. They lost touch the way people do — different cities, different decades, different lives — but stayed in a loose orbit of people you assume you'll run into again someday. Thirty years later, they did.
These days, Alan lives in Spokane with his wife and two rescue dogs, and spends as much time outdoors as the Pacific Northwest will allow him. Jennifer has spent the last five years as a digital nomad, deciding on her favorite Greek island, usually with a yoga mat close by.
Neither of them got here by getting everything right the first time. Jennifer closed a fourteen-year digital marketing agency to start over from scratch at an age when most people are told to be winding down. Alan spent thirty years inside enterprise systems, good at the work and respected for it, before admitting to himself that the problems he actually cared about weren't in the boardrooms he was sitting in.
This is usually how the good stuff starts — a little uncertain, a bit stubborn, and sometimes figured out along the way. The team at Lansby just happen to love what they do, have fun while they work, and between them, they've spent enough of their lives starting over to know exactly what it feels like to sit across from someone who's stuck and scared to make the wrong call.
Does that feel like you? Right now?
What Lansby Believes
We do well by doing good.
Lansby exists to help mission-driven organizations navigate AI without losing what makes them mission-driven. That's not a tagline. It's the actual business model.
We are educators first, service providers second.
Our job is to build your organization's capacity to think clearly about AI — not to keep you dependent on us to do the thinking for you.
Understanding comes before action.
The instinct to launch an AI initiative because everyone else is moving produces activity, not clarity. We start by understanding where AI already touches an organization, then we help leadership decide what actually deserves attention.
